Mate that "lager" of yours was amazing! It reminded me of the beer I gave you a week ago. I want to do it for my first AG if you would be kind enough to tell me what you used/how to do it/ help me drink it!

It may have looked like a lager but it was so much more!

Ta,

Nath

No worries Nath, glad you liked it. I guess you get a lot more flavour with AG so even lagers don't taste the same. I'll stick the recipe up when I get a sec as its on the other computer. Unfortunately brewing software is not available for my mac so I have it installed on the office PC.

Never. Get a mac and you'll never look back. Well except when you can't run loads of software packages or access many secure online websites....

You could always partition your hard drive on your mac and run microsoft and OS X! I was looking into mac's a while back after using them at work, and was told you can run MS software and apple software if you partition the drive!

I ended up going for laptop purley on cost! if I had a couple of grand to chuck on a comp it would be mac all the way!

What brew software are you using Greg?

Hi Dan, I have got a copy of virtual PC but haven't used it for ages. Get by as we have a couple of PC's knocking around for when the mac comes unstuck. I use beer engine most of the time. Just find it really easy to use and has all the functions I need, mainly to calculate IBU and ABV. I did download a trail version of beersmith but didn't really see any advantage and it cost's money. It does allow water treatment and yeast but I don't really bother with water treatment as yet. Might get into it at some point.

    What do you use?

    I use Beersmith!

I tried beertools, beer engine, beer smith and pro mash, felt that Beersmith was the one for me. Its easy to use! you can set it up for your own equipment, Tells you what you have in stock (grains, hops, yeast etc..), it has a comperensive account of grains, yeasts (dried and liquid) and hops! and there is loads more to download!
