Stuck fermentation
Sorry sure this has been covered before but i am a new user of this forum (so hello), just got back into brewing again after a lay off. I had a woodefordes great eastern in the loft but was about 4 years out of date I tested/started the yeast before pitching and was fine, ferment went well but has now stuck at 1020 i have tied to rouse and have a heater already on from the start. There appears to be some fermenting still going on but would it be best to just keg it?

4 years is a long time for the poor yeasties. If you've got some more yeast it may be worth pitching it. At 1020, if the yeast has done all it can, it's going to taste quiet sweet.

Thanks for that but they must be tough little critters as its now down to the 1016 (after 11days) woodefordes say it should reach before kegging.

I think its 1014/1016 so looks like its all good, just make sure its constant over a couple a' days.
Amazing though, yeast 4 years out of date and its still doing its thing!
