stuck ferment?
Hi all, started a Muntons Connoisseur's Wheat on Monday, I didn't use the enclosed yeast but used a Safbrew WB-06 Yeast, which I rehydrated to see if it made a difference, Bubbles started after seven hours about 8pm, got up tuesday morning to the lid half lifted off the fv,some foam over the side (and on the ceiling!), so I cleaned it up and put the lid back on with a bubbler. but since then nothing, there has been no bubbles and the water in the bubbler actually sits level so no gas pressure at all, took a hydro reading about an hour ago which was 1020,but there is still foam on the top of the wort.I added 20g of crushed coriander seed at the start, and after I cleaned the mess up on tuesday I put some dried lime leaves in the FV in a muslin bag, would this affect the yeast? would I be ok to pitch the kit yeast in Tomorrow if the reading stays at 1020?
Temperature has been between 18 and 23 throughout.
cheers
John

Its only been 3 days so I would wait 2 days and check again, dont panic just yet! If you look at some of the other threads you will see what lengths some people go to make sure they hear bubbles!

I really did have no reason to panic, in fact I bottled it today at the lowest reading ive had, (ok, its only my third brew but they both stopped at 1012/1014) this one got down to 1002/1003, with a SG of 1041 I make it 5%ish,nice and cloudy (although more orange in colour than white)and the little bit I tasted when syphoning was pretty nice.goes to show that patience in brewing pays off.
Thanks again Nath, pitching the kit yeast as well may have burgered it up.
wonder if the yeast rehydration helped it drop so low?
Cheers

Cool beans, glad all is well. I dont think its a high attenuating yeast so who knows how it dropped so much eh?!?
