Sterilising barrel
Just about to sterilise my barrel, is it ok to put the lid with a co2 injector fitting in the sterilising liquid (youngs steriliser and cleaner), or am i better just pouring boiling water over the cap?

Well .. to me that sounds like no problem at all. To be on the safe side though, I'd dismantle everything down to its component parts and then soak in your steriliser. I made the switch to Videne a while back and now use that for everything - just spray and leave for 30 seconds!

My missus is a theatre nurse and can get hold of that stuff, both alcohol and aqueous versions, which do i need? is it really as simple as spray and leave, no nasty taste or anything? no rinsing?

When I use VWP (chlorine based stuff) I have soaked before so dont worry, I aggree with tony videne is great and cheap - tescos pharmacy for about a fiver, though I sometimes use VWP for a uber-clean if im feeling dirty.

Hey bantz
there's a thread on here somewhere by dandan called videne, he gives a run down on using it and which type you need, have a look if you get a moment.
