No just any music with beer in it!

I have just listened to Cream of Clapton though.

Awsome. My old man used to listen to it on some saturdays after a few, man its a great album.

Nath. Completely agree. First came across Spotify at my brother's New years eve party just back. The ads are a small price for the range of music you can access and playlist. It's definitely worth having.

    Here's a conundrum for you:-
One of my favourite bands, Swans, split up 13 years ago. They've decided to reform and tour this year.
I've never seen them live (though I've met M.Gira, the lead singer after a solo gig in my local - that night alone is a separate story involving far too much drink) so I would love to see them play.
So, this October their European tour kicks off (they're from NYC) with one date in Ireland!!!! Yeyyy!!!
Bad news - it's in Cork. Never been to Cork City but it's about 7 hours' drive from Belfast. Still, small price, etc, etc...
Here's the tricky bit - my wife's due date for our second child is early November. Do I buy a ticket?

Was in a similar situation February last year when, 2 weeks before the due date of our first child, Front 242 (Belgian pioneers of EBM, also been around since the early 80s - never saw them live) played in Dublin.
That time I was lucky; I went, the band were superb, and I got hilarously drunk. No baby was born that night.

    Do I go to Cork?

...never mind. I'm buying the ticket right now...

Talked yourself into Bazza. Good man. Fingers cross, or should I say legs crossed that the Baby is on time.

Haha! The answer I was sort of expecting! Cheers lads; feel a lot better about the whole thing.

Addmittedly, I was a little drunk when I posted that last night. Turns out that I appear to be that way again, but wanted to bring your attention to something awful that happened along the way - Badger Golden Glory.

Okay, the clue is in the label. All that talk of peaches should have been enough of a deterrent, but really! If I wanted to drink Peach Schnapps I'd have had that sex change years ago. My wife was guffawing at the faces I was pulling trying to sink that one.

Badger seems to have a good name, generally, on this forum. Have I just hit their two duffers - Golden Glory and Golden Champion? Or am I an achohpop drinker waiting to steal his first car?

Yeah they are quite sickly Bazza but I like one now and again. The other one to watch out for is Blandford Fly - really ginger tasting. Again I like it (in small doses) but many don't.

The best one is Tanglefoot. First Gold, Fursty Ferret and Hopping Hare are all nice too.

    Hey Bazza
I put up a post about golden glory a few weeks back .. almost made me throw up... I gave badger another chance last night - golden champion (the only one I hadn't tried)... not quite as bad but still enough for me to try and give it away!
With regard to the gig, have you asked your missus? What does she think?

Beer will get you through the times of no money better than money will get you through the times of no beer
(with grateful thanks to the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers and slightly adapted)

Ah, Tanglefoot. Forgot that was a Badger brew. Yeah, that's not too bad. So out of the 3 Badgers I've had, one was passable, one tasted like Christmas cake and one might as well have been pink and called 'WKD'.

Beer that tastes like beer. There's a crazy notion....

Tony - My missus is cool about the gig. Ticket is ordered already, in case it's a sell-out (stranger things have happened). The missus knows if Junior#2 gives any hints of an early appearance, there's no way I'll be 300 miles away at a concert. Fair enough.

Trying my hand at brewing a Black Sheep clone tomorrow night....
