Jswood007Secondary conditioning temperature

12 months ago | Jswood007 (Member)

Hi Just completed a batch of Woodforde's Great Eastern Ale. Fourteen days in the fermenter at 20-21 C. I then had the brew in the Airing cupboard for four days at an air temp of 27 - 29 C?? On reflection I was this temperature to high??. The bottles are now in the garage to condition. Hope all goes well!!

Look forward to any feedback.

Many thanks

Hi, Should be okay as most of the flavour compounds are created in the first few days so high temp later on shouldn't do too much and will have helped the beer ferment right out. Next time I would probably recommend keeping nearer 20 / 22c thoughout.

Don't worry I'm sure it will taste fine.
