Dan, nothing as exciting as yours!
I used to love all that kind of stuff but really don't get much time these days with work and family etc.
Go for bike rides, running and dog walks when I can. Also really enjoy cooking and obviously make beer/wine. Take my son clay pigeon shooting when we can too. Apart from that work and general family life take up most of my time. There simply isn't enough hours in the day.
Good luck this weekend. Let us know how you get on!

Building and tuning engines:

I put this together in my garage the other day.
Unfortunately the car is a long way from completion so it'll be a while till the engine is run.
I also like to build things like this flow bench for flowing cylinder heads.

I'm trying to turn this hobby into a career at the moment.
I'm also a keen gardener, and grow lots of veg etc.
I've gone mad for chilli lately. Growing Scotch bonnets, Dorset Nagas, Jalapenos, Birds eye, Thai etc
The nagas are seriously hot.

Well the Rafting Champs is over for another year and it was a good job it wasn't a selection event for the British Team we took overall 5th place out of 19 mens teams!
we stuffed our Head too Head round and was knocked out on our first run! we was laying in 7th after day 1, To make things worse I hurt both arms, brused my left elbow and bent back my little finger on my left hand (which had to be heavly strapped) whist Table Wresting on the sat evening.
But was up early and slightly worse for wear on this morning and we entered the fun events of run across a pontoon of rafts and back, throw the midget (judged on distance and the stlye the midget selected) and Flip and re-flip the raft with six crew (took us 41secs)! after this we did the endurance event and I was called crazy for being the only paddler in shorts and short sleeved cag but I knew the ammount of running with raft, sprinting and paddling was needed, the time we placed bumped us upto 5th!
For next year I think we need to get lots more training in! I'll post a few of our photos up when I get them!

OK .. I'm going to sound a bit odd here .. but my hobbies are my two daughters. One is 4 and one will be 2 in January. Something tells me that I should say 'next to brewing, spending time with them is the thing I like to do more than anything else' .. but, It's going to have to be the other way around... ' next to my daughters, brewing is the thing I like to do more than anything in the world.'
I'm going to be drummed out for that.
I think I'll set up a photobucket account and post a pic.
I do photography too ... Used to do a lot once .. and professionally. I may post some of those too. OK, been thinking about what to post in this thread for weeks now .. so here it is!
EDIT: Ok, done the photobucket thing and here's the kids!

Ah bless them, they look very sweet! There is not a lot of time left for hobbies when you've got 2 kids and they grow up so quickly!
Why did you give up the photography?

Thats the ol' shop, and here are some of mine - the redder one is a "chilli-willi" made with hot skinned peppers and I cant remember the other probably a leek of some sorts.

Good stuff Nath, those sausages look great! What equipment do you need for that?
Nice bit of history there too, shame your great grandads name isn't still on the building.

Nath, do you make cured sausage's or just fresh ones?
Posted 2 years ago by Moderator
Fresh, but I was toying with a home smoker as they are easy enough to diy. Trouble is about that time brewing came into the picture so it sort of had to compete! I have simmered a couple'a brats but no smokeys for me till ag is sorted!

Here's the reason I can't make any more homebrew for a while:
DIY Nitrous kit FTW.
(It's not quite working yet, but SOON)

Nice - i used to tune 3-GSE & 3-GSTE engines. Owned quite a few celica GT4/MR2's and MR2 Turbo's!!
What are you hoping to get from that - +50 bhp?
You planning to change the valves on that to allow for a more rapid exhaust or not?
Cheers

I'm planning on a +25 shot to start with. But I expect I'll ramp that up pretty soon.
If I do anything to the head, I'll get one from a gen 3 is it?
As The cams, I think, have a more aggressive profile.
Then I'd port and flow it on my flow bench above.
TBH I don't know a lot about these engines. I'm more of a ford fan.
All I know is I get to say "T-VIS Kicked in Yo".
My friend has a MK2 Gen 1 MR2.
We've planning a 3VZ-FE swap with single Eaton M112 running on meagsquirt at about 7psi boost.
Then we'll put the 3S-GE into an old starlet and run it on bike carbs and lots of nitrous.
I wouldn't mind doing a blown V6 conversion on mine.
But I'd prefer to do it on a GT4, for obvious reasons.

Sweet. I missed all of my fast car days. Bloomin' family. Now I have to settle for 5 doors, low tax and high MPG!
When I was 19 I had a nova sr and loved it to bits, I was planning a courtnay turbo conversion (sales job, high pay but went on beer!) but it never came. My Bro had a nice suped 5GT Turbo, that was awsome (had the exaust done by tourque techniques a local place if memory serves)!
Im still hanging on to my dream of a nissan pulsar....Mmmmm, I must be one of the very very very few people who think they are sexy!
By the way (or should I say BTW) what does FTW mean?
Edit - Starlets, great cars - trouble free apart from the paint! My red one went pink. I still begrudge pxing it for a family member due to the scrappage scheme. Weep Weep

FTW = For The Win
Just a general internet saying for something good.
I like the Pulsar, but I'm not a big fan of old French push rod, blow through carb rubbish.
The MK1 Fiesta is gonna be tight when it's done. If it ever gets done
