User has not uploaded an avatarNot enough yeast to carbonate ?

1 year ago | sam87 (Member)

My galaxy ipA has cleared like a dream even after dryhopping for 4 days on hindsight I wish I had left longer dryhopping but was on holiday and was worried about spoiling this wonderful tasting brew

As I was aiming for 6.8 abv FG 1.015 I used 2 packets of safeale us but it seems to have finished at 1.020 which is 6.1 abv

My question is do you guys think that there will still be enough active yeast to carbonate the rest of my beer ?

As my first batch of Amarillo ipa was not carbonated evenly ( which I suspect as discussed in anouther post) was I did not mix the priming sugar well enough, I'm getting worried that i balls this batch up

Any advise is greatly apriciated

Sam

You should be okay as you've not had an extended lagering period so there should be plenty of yeast still to carbonate.

My last ag lager was fermented over the course of 2 weeks then lagered for another 3 (at least) before bottling and even though it was nice n clear it still had enough yeast! It just took a little longer to carbonate fully, I think 2 weeks at room temp in the bottles done it.

Drinkin' - nowt, it's all gone
    Plannin'-
Loads a beer after an upgrade!
