Non-Alcholic beer
After being advised by the doctor to come off the drink for a while and having already sampled some of the terrible non-alcoholic beers the market has to offer gave me an idea of converting a small batch of homebrew as outlined in this article

Has anyone tried anything like this ?

Yeah why not, gonna be brewing a batch in the next couple of weeks and got an ice cream machine that holds a litre so will do a couple of runs and fill a few litre PET bottles and force carb them to save pitching more yeast
Then compare the differences between the two, after all I've got nothing to lose

Ive never had a non alcoholic beer - I see becks do a becks blue or something - surely it has to taste better than normal becks?

Surprising not becks blue is horrid, was drinking it a few weeks ago as had to watch the kids that night after a party and the after taste is terrible
The nicest NA beer I have had was cobra and I was reading up you can actually get NA bitter and ale but am yet to find them

Hi Sam, For me one of the requirements of beer is the relaxing effects of the Alcohol so personally I can't see the point of non-alcoholic beer. May as well just drink soft drinks. Get a juicer and "Juice" by Nigel Slater which has some great juice idea's.
Also go nuts on exercise (if poss) which should help keep the booze cravings at bay.
Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear but that's what I would do (in theory!).
