Hi Guys

Has anyone used isinglass & bottled their beer?

Im wooried about the effect it will have on the bottle conditioning(carbonating) as it pulls all yeast out of suspension.

Any suggestions?

Im looking at this, but for a corny. If it does pull all the yeast out I cant see that it can be used for bottling naturally.

Looking around the net it seems that if you transfer to secondary, add Isinglass then leave for 24 hours and bottle and prime it should be ok. It still leaves a yeast deposit but a harder one.

I dont really know, tis all from da net!

Hmmmm I thought as much, I have bagged up a few beers for my beer pump & used isinglass.....the result is great but the yeast is very soft & you can see it kick up with the slightest movement.
I can see why pubs always leave their casks to settle out now!

I used Isinglass for my last three bottled batches. As you know, the deposits are loose & flighty, so I rack over to a clean vessel, add the Isinglass (also dry hops) and give it five days before bottling, leaving all that behind.
My main worry was cleaning out all the yeast, stopping any conditioning. But it worked out fine, just slower.
Also, I am experimenting with using no priming sugar, just bottling at 1012-1014, so I've been doubley pushing my luck, but as I say they worked out fine, given at least Three weeks in the bottle.

I just used isinglass for the first time and well impressed with the clarity. Crystal clear after a few days in the cornie and it was only slightly hazy when I transferred from the fermenter. I used aux finnings first then isinglass paste 24 hrs later, kegged 24 hrs after that.
