PMANeed more members!

1 year ago | PMA (Member)

Sometimes it can take hours and hours to get a response on a topic, which can leave those floundering...well, erm.. floundering! I think we can all make a conscious effort to recruit more members, giving everybody a better chance of getting the assistance and/or having the beer-based banter they so desperately need.

I've already urged someone to check the forum and get involved, not sure if they have yet but I'll keep on the case.

What say you? Are you with me?!

Alternatively... is there a way (unless there already is) that there could be some 'sticky' topics e.g. FAQ, troubleshooting etc? If anyone has the experience or know-how to write some informative, in depth guides that would be fantastic. Of course, I could be talking right out of my poo-hole and if I bothered to actually use the site properly, I'd find all the answers I need.

    Ah well.

Hi, Personally I think the forum is pretty well served although there is always room for improvement and we are always up for suggestions.

The more the merrier as far as members goes.

I think this is the friendliest forum I've come across although we could benefit from some more experienced brewers.

Oh I agree, when I joined I mentioned how friendly it is here, more so than jbk although I still find that forum very useful! Just seemed a bit quiet on here at times, when it's such a good forum. I've been made to feel right at home here, so I'm not complaining!

This forum depends on a few active members which I guess can make it a bit quiet at times when people are busy.

Personally ive been so busy recently that I've not had time to brew or post but that should change In the next few weeks as this is the busiest time of year.

As a forum we have only been going just over a year (a lot less time that most) and we are going from strength to strength so long may that continue.

Anyway glad to have you on board pma and you are a very welcome addition

Why, thank you very much Greg, appreciated! I didn't realise how new the forum was actually, it's done pretty well in such a short space of time

Like you say, I'm sure as time elapses it'll grow and grow, it's a nice little community which can only (like a good brew!) improve with age!

There must be a large number of members of this forum and everyone should feel like they could contribute. I've only been brewing for just over 12 months but have learnt so much in the time. Mostly from this and other forums and some trial and error of course. So if anyone has an opinion on any of the post they should dive straight in!

The sticky post option does work really well as we're all guilty of being a little lazy with the search option. Any chance of implementing that?

I think it is more of a time issue with a lot of people. I work from 7 - 3pm then pick the kids up, cook n all that stuff. By the time I can get on a pc its 7-8ish and then thats if theres no overtime going on at work!

This forum is great, sometimes a bit quiet but the people on here are all really sound. What Im trying to say is....

I LOVE YOU GUYS! (and im not drunk!)

I was once a serial forum stalker, and I suppose a fair few of our members may be doing the same. Give it time and they will come out from the shadows and remember "if you brew it, they will come".

Drinkin' - nowt, it's all gone

"if you brew it, they will come"

    Excellent!

I think patience is a virtue in here - as it is with brewing.

The best thing about our forum is that there isn't one single t**t on here.

I can't recall a single cross word which certainly cannot be said for the other forums.

Also any brewer whatever the level is welcome and stupid questions are more than welcome.

We may take our time sometime but we are always friendly.

Am I the only one who had an overwhelming urge to post something rude on this thread? It's like the big red power cut off buttons I see in big computer rooms. Must .. resist .. must ... not ... touch!

I for one think this is the best forum i've been on. It's friendly and the advice is far better than any other i've been on.

I've met some really friendly people on here and have pointed several people i know who are also into homebrewing in the direction of this website.

Totally agree.. This is the only forum I use. I like how laid back it is and how friendly everyone is.
