Brew UK Forum | Brewery Beers
Meantime
Every week when we do the shop in sainsbury's I look to see if they have new beers (rarely) and I also look with longing at this:

I always wonder if it really is worth the £4.53 price tag. Anyway (as you've probably guessed) I bought one this morning as a treat (as I'm in the kitchen cooking all day). I really hoped that it was going to be crap so I wouldn't want one again... but, it is rather lovely. A true IPA - very high hopped and coming in at 7.5%. Very nice indeed and those hops last a good hour in the mouth
I also bought one of these, just because it was there (a bit like Everest). It was also considerably cheaper (£2.98). It is Sainsbury's own - or rather it has their name on it; haven't tried it yet as I'm still sipping the IPA (something I was 'advised' to do 'at that price' by the missus).

Which one Nath? the IPA is meantime - down in Greenwich. They do a porter too which I may try in another 100 years when I've saved up.
The Belgian is errrr ummmm .. says brewed in Belgium, bottled in France. Other than the name Abbaye, no idea!
Just about to crack it open!

hey bl
Yes, it's a champagne bottle .. so I suppose that's where a lot of the cost came from!
Not a bad beer at all ... but worth £4.50+...?

Right went to sainsbursy today to find neither think my sainsburys is poor on the beer front.
Came away with a st peters organic ale, golden pride and adnams bitter.
May have to go to the local beer shop to try and find it i think sainsburys are the only supermarket to have it aswell

Wish I could send you one beerlover!
Still, the st peter's is rather lovely as are the other two. Keep a look out for them .. the IPA was very good... the belgian was nice too ... very 'typical' I suppose is the best way to describe it.

Nice .. notice that the bottle is empty too!
I just noticed that those I bought last week are in the 'speciality beers' section if that's any help? In our Sainsbury's, that's right next to the 'proper' ales so it was easy for me to find.
