Mash Tun...
Hello...
Just been on another brewing website (sorry Greg & co!) and have found a mash tun for under £50.
Wondering what you guys think? Whether it's worth going for? It's got a good write up etc and for under 50 notes it can't be all that bad surely?

Sadly, I'd have to say that cost wise, it must be about the same as what I spent buying a cool box, tap and copper pipe. Good value in other words.
However, not as much fun or as satisfying
I'd say if you have a bag of plumbing spares like most of us tend to accumulate, you might be cheaper making your own.
Here's mine - cool box about 22 quid, tap about a tenner, copper pipe matrix inside with fittings probably about a tenner too.

It looks good i must admit. Sadly however, i am the worlds worst when it comes to DIY and would probably end up like Kenny Everetts DIY expert Reg Prescott and slice all my fingers of.
I have been given permission by the boss that i can buy it. So i will be purchasing it soon me thinks

Dont be scared of DIY. Your diy-ing beer and had no bad consequences! Froogle cool box and I bet you will find a cheapo one going, then all you do is make a hole and put a tap on it! You could make it even cheaper by using a homebrew tap at about £3ish.
