Indian Pale Ale help.
I have just bottled a batch of this made from a Coopers kit. However when doing the obligatory 'taste' when bottling - it had a sort of bitter after taste. I haven't noticed this in other beers I have made recently.
As a newbie who actually dosen't like beer ( I make wine for me!), infact I dont even know what it is meant to taste like! Is this bitter taste normal? Will it disapear after being bottled for a while or sould I bin the lot?

NO! don't sling it.
Traditionally IPA's were sent to the troops and British citizens in India. So that the beer survived the journey extra hops were added (because hops are a preservative but you knew that already).
So yes the bitter aftertaste is normal, though it may mellow a little as the beer matures.

Yep I'm sure it will taste fine, unfortunatle a beer brewers greatest problem is having the patience not to drink the beer before its properly conditioned. Give it a few weeks and have another try, I bet it will taste 100 times better!
Plannin'-
Loads a beer after an upgrade!
