Season's Greetings and Happy New Year to all etc.!

I brewed two barrels of Milestones Homewrecker and IPA for Christmas and very nice they have been too. However, with half a barrel of each left and unlikely they'll be drunk in the next few weeks, I was wondering what the shelf-life of part used barrels are? Will they keep for days/weeks/months? Can they be drained and bottled?

Family have gone home now and with the best will in the world I am not going to neck 40pints soon!!!

Drinking: Woodfords Admirals Reserve (6-8 weeks bottle matured!)
Brewing: Harvest Stout / Zinfandel Rose
Conditioning: Milestone Homewrecker / Lots of wine!
Next: Harvest Bitter / Country Elderberry

Months n months n months n months or yes you could bottle it from the barrels, just add 1/2 tsp sugar to each bottle to re-prime.

Drinkin' - nowt, it's all gone

Should be fine, there is normally enough yeast in suspension to ensure carbonation - just may take a little while to carbonate.

If you really want you could shake the barrel to get the bit of sludgey yeast back into the beer to ensuer there is enough yeast to re-prime but you will have to wait for it to clear again.

    +1 to Nath

You should be fine just taking the beer off the top of the sediment and priming each bottle with 1/2 tsp sugar (or priming into a separate bucket with boiled then cooled sugar solution).

I did this with the remains of my last barrel-ful and it primed no bother.
