Honey Mead
I was thinking about making some honey mead as its looks pretty straight forward and I tried some a few weeks ago and was really impressed.
The only issue I have currently is getting hold of some decent, reasonably priced honey in some volume. Probably looking to make a couple of demijohns worth so will need at least 3 kgs.
If anyone knows of a source of such things can you let me know. Also don't know if anyone has tried the above and has a good recipe. Seen a few on the net which look pretty simple but I'm looking to produce some really special which I can bottle and give away as pressies next Christmas. I know I'm thinking ahead but these things take time!!

I was in the home brew shop in Salisbury town center a few weeks ago.
There were some joker student types in there talking about making some mead.
I chuckled as I knew mead takes about a year to produce.
Anyway, the lady in there seemed to know what she was talking about and brought out an old skool mead recipe book that she said was out of print for the jokers to have a look at.
I expect you could do a lot worse than asking for some advice there.

Cheers, not sure I'll be heading down the local home brew shop in a hurry but thanks for the link for the honey. They have an interesting range. Just need to do some research into the best type of honey to use.
I'll post the recipe once I've done my homework.
