Do you know how much percentage the brew is?

Also when making an AG brew why do you add extra sugar? I thought the sugar is extracted from the malt used.

Sorry for noob questions but Im venturing into AG soon and its still a (very) dark art to me!

    Ta,

    Nath

It works out a 5.25% Abv!

I merged two recipes together and one had the sugar in! I think its there to up the Alch level with out effecting the colour and flavor of the beer.

AG is easier than it looks!

Dans right. AG is easy. The hardest bit is choosing what to make as you can only make one beer at a time. Well that's not strictly true but most of us don't have enough room, time or money for a proper brewery. For now anyway!

    How's that one tasting Dan?

    Planning:Maybe a lager.
    Fermenting:
    Conditioning:Pale with Styrians
    Drinking:Cascade Pale Ale, Summer Lightning

Haven't tried one for about a month but it was heading down the lines of a Batemans Rosey Nosey but with more body and a slight cinnamon punch! (I think I need to make a quality control taste tonight!)

Its changed in flavor, got a liquorice twang to in now, slightly gassy as well, put one in the fridge to see if that makes a difference, I prefered it a month ago! but its not undrinkable, just not as good!

I often prefer young beers. I really like strong hop aroma and flavour which often mellows with age. The pale ale I'm drinking has been in the barrel for 2 weeks and to be honest is perfect, can't see it getting any better. Its not likely to get the chance seeing as its all I have ready at the moment anyway.

I'll post the recipe over the weekend.

    Planning:Maybe a lager.

The Cinnamon works well when the beer is young, but as it matures its gone abit liquoricey!

Yes, that's happened to mine n the past when I've tried holding onto the beer for a while. I think the secret it to drink it all immediately!
