My German is limited to ordering food and drink, I've run the paragraph below through a couple of online translators but it comes out as gobbledygook.
I guess I'm asking if Madlen can translate this into understandable English...

I want to harvest the yeast, do Gutmann bottle their beer with the fermentation yeast?.
Vielen Danke.

After bottom fermentation and cold storage, the protein is filtered out. The beer is then put in a pressure tank.
Wheat beer maturing/conditioning rooms
In wheat beer we do not use filtration before storage. After the primary fermentation occurs in the mixing tank, it is then bottled. The storage time in bottles is 3-4 weeks. Each wheat beer conditioning room can be individually heated and cooled

^ Wot he said...
Actually... isn't it a little wierd that all those words just translate into one simple english word...'gobbledygook'. I thought the Germans were quite efficient.. go figure

Hi
Well translating one to one won't do it, in most cases you need to describe the meaning as some words just don't have a match in the other language.

After the "cold-storage" of the bottom fermenting beer, the protein and the yeast will be filtered out. afterwards the beer is transferred into the pressure barrels.
wheat beer maturing rooms
Wheat beer we, still today, do without filtration or intermediate storage. After the main fermentation, the beer is transferred into a mixing vessel, from where it is bottled. The storage time for the bottles is about 3 to 4 weeks. Every wheat bear maturing room is fully climatised (heat + chill).

Many thanks Steve and Madlen, much better than the online guff though I guess some things just don't translate.
Apparently the Gutmann yeast is quite popular amongst German home brewers for harvesting but the best reference I could find was written in 2006. I might buy a couple of bottles and if I can propagate the stuff brew a wheatie for comparison with Wyeast 3068. This bothers me a bit though "After the "cold-storage" of the bottom fermenting beer, the protein and the yeast will be filtered out."
Several years ago I toyed with the idea of doing an intensive German course at the Deutsch Institut Tirol in Kitzbühel but alas it was prohibitively expensive when you consider that on top of the cost I wouldn't be earning anything, ho-hum.

Actually, I don't read german but in Thai it would be...
So I hope that helps...
