I think a "General brewing question/discussion" forum would be useful.

Hi Winedabbler, not currently making any wine but I'm maturing some elderberry from last year and still have a couple of bottles of Elderflower from the summer.

    What are you making?

Hi John, I'm going to make up some of your wine in the next couple of weeks as it tasted delicious. I think I'm going to do the white first as I would imagine that one is better drunk younger and therefore I would have to wait as long!!

Hey winedabbler. I've got a gal of red in at the moment made from grapes grown here in sunny old enfield. Saw that someone was giving them away on freegle and picked up 12 kilo. Only 3 months old at the moment and just about ready to rack.

Tony, did you add anything to grape juice? (apart from yeast).

    Hi Greg!
I washed the grapes beforehand in a campden tab and water solution and then after the crush and soak, added about 3/4 lb (why is it that my brain refuses to go completely imperial or metric and likes to float betweenthe two???) of sugar. I can write out the recipe if you like? I read up on red recipes before hand and wanted the one that used the least crap in it. :o)
