Friday Brewday
Got the day off on Friday so planning a double Brew day as I haven't brewed for about 6 weeks. Hope the weather is good so I can brew outside.
Planning a English Pale with EKG/Fuggles as can't go wrong with that and stocks are low and also a 65 IBU 6% IPA. Just can't decide on hops. I thinking Simcoe and Crystal at the moment with possibly Cascade. I would use Rakua and Nelson Sauvin but both are out of stock now until this years crop is released. I thinking Wyeast American Ale II for the yeast.
I'm also planning to use water treatment on the English Pale for the first time, just waiting for Wessex water to confirm the Alkalinity as this doesn't seem to be available on their website. Our water is really hard and I'm thinking this is bringing out a harshness in the bittering but I'll keep you posted.
My last beer hasn't turned out as well as expected. The Styrians have given is a very strong flavour which I'm not keen on and also it still to clear completely. Its only been in the barrel for about 5 weeks so hopefully it may turn out drinkable but not too good so far.
I've been having to buy beer but its costing a fortune even when finding deals around.
Fermenting:
Conditioning:Pale with Styrians
Drinking:Cascade Pale Ale, Summer Lightning

Sounds fantastic Greg, lovely couple of brews there haven't used simcoe before so can't comment I'm afraid.
I know what you mean about buying beers - but variety is the spice of life :o)
Good luck with the brews - hope you get the weather too!
(with grateful thanks to the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers and slightly adapted)
