Hey all
was looking at a raspberry beer recipe and to get a decent flavour (using tinned - as fresh would require a 2nd mortgage), I'd need more than the supermarket has on the shelf!

I heard that its possible to use liquor flavourings, anyone have any idea where I can get these?

I'd prefer to make cherry beer really but am terrified of making 25 ltrs of penicillin

I wondered if I could use my coffe flavor thingys I got from my aunt at christmas. Jr Watkins (googled) does flavour enhancements Im sure that they would be ok in beer though I dont really know what they contain.

Synergyuk do flavourings and they say its ok for beer use but no prices so you would have to ring.

Drinkin' - nowt, it's all gone
    Plannin'-
Loads a beer after an upgrade!

Just got my coffe flavourings and most are made with suger, water, a flavouring an e number and a preservative agent and some have citric acid. So I spose it would be ok to use in beer. Its from whitards and contains - hazelnut, caramel, vcanilla, cinnamon and gingerbread.....

Hmmm dont think I will be adding any of those to beer!

    What about trying this stuff.

    http://www.brewuk.co.uk/store/raspberry-juice.html

Not tried myself but should do the job at a reasonable price. Brupaks do a Cherry version too.

Wow, I didn't realise you could buy cherry and raspberry juice for brewing. I've been thinking about a Kreik style beer.

Sorry to Hi- jack a conversation but how much of that little bottle do you add? Does it go in during the intial mix up of ingredients?

It amazes me just how many products you can buy in home brewing!!

    Planning - first AG brew
In the Barrel - Golden Ale (woodfords)
In the Fermenter - Elderflower wine
    Drinking - Nothing home made

Nice one Greg, didn't know you had that - I was looking under liquors! *Doh*

Will definitely have to try that!

Dosage is to taste so I would suggest adding after primary fermentation and just before bottling/kegging so you can get a reasonable idea of the flavour you are going to hit.

    Don't use Synergy!!!!

Stay local and use Lionel Hitchen (Essential Oils) LHEO in Andover (Wiltshire).
    Used to work there.

They wouldn't like to sell to the public though.
Best to ask for a sample as that amount will flavour about 100L of beer anyway.
