gregDrinking down the pub

2 years ago | Greg (Admin)

Why are hangovers ALWAYS worse after drinking down the pub. It doesn't matter which pub or what I drink. Not even how much to be honest. At home I can drink a lot more with no side effects the next day.

I always have a headache after drinking down the pub. It must be something to do with beer from a brewery barrel. Maybe its the finnings although they must put the same stuff in bottled beers.

Does anyone else find this?

    Absolutely!
Always the same for me too .. try finding a decent clone recipe that doesn't have sugar in it. I blame it on the sugar.

    Or the chemicals.

Or the government. They seem to be responsible directly or indirectly for almost all bad things, irrespective of party.

Seriously though, I'm exactly the same - in fact, I rarely get 'drunk' at home but I find it difficult to go past 18 pints when I'm out!

:o) That should be 4 pints to be completely honest. I do drink faster when I'm out - not that I go out often with the nippers around!

Yeah, puts you off going down the pub as not only did I spend a fortune but have a cracking headache too.

Headache has not gone... Ale is now flowing too. Well it is Friday after all!

I have to admit, that I notice the dent in my pocket less when spending an evening in a wetherspoons. Beers are always a good price and there's always at least four good beers on draught. I recently bought a pint of Sierra Nevada in another local (as I'm always reading about it in US literature and was surprised to see it on draught over here), it cost me £3.96. Nearly fell off the stool - before drinking it for a change!

I can top that one -

Birmingham Metropol Hotel. Becks. 275ml. £4.10.

Funny thing was a 2 minute taxi cab ride (seriously, 2 roundabout away) there is a small pub called the owl or something which is a free house real ale pub. They has 6x and 2 others and it was all around £2.80ish.

Still work paid for all the other drinks at there, till 3am on both days!

    Alllllright!

Drinkin' - nowt, it's all gone
