BeermonkeyDoes it matter that i didn't bulk prime?

1 year ago | Neil (Member)

Morning...

I bottled my ale last Tuesday and put in 1 tsp of sugar per bottle. However, i didn't bulk prime the batch before hand. Does this really matter? I don't really fancy having to empty the bottles and bulk prime.

I am hoping the beer will do it's trick as it's only been in the bottle for a week...

Patience as they say is a virtue.

You done fine mate. You don't need to batch prime if you are priming the bottles individually. Now comes the hard waiting part!

Drinkin' - nowt, it's all gone
    Plannin'-
Loads a beer after an upgrade!

Sounds like quite a lot of sugar to me, especially if you have only left a small airspace at the top of the bottle. I always used 1/2 teaspoon per 1 pt bottle. Careful how you open them. You could have a beer fountain on the go! Hope it goes well. What were you brewing?

If you're not living on the edge..... you're taking up too much space!!

Planning: - To get some more brews on now the weather's a bit cooler
    Fermenting: - Ginger Beer experiment
Conditioning: - A normal bitter with Styrians
    Drinking: - All of it!!

I can sleep a little bit better knowing that i've done the right thing... You know how it is it's like watching the kids grow up... you need patience with that too.

Saracen.. i made up my own recipe using ingredients my father-in-law was giving at a meet the brewer event in my local pub.

I've put the recipe on here some where? I am sure it's under Father-in-law brew or something like that?
