Chilling Wort
Hi,
Just completed my second brew (first extract brew) using the Summer Ale recipe pack. Despite making a few school boy errors it hasn't turned out half bad and is rather drinkable!
Having done some post brew research I have a question regarding the fast chilling of wort following the boil (the Summer Ale was left in the fermentation bin overnight to cool before pitching). My chosen method will be a sink full of ice and water to put the stock pot I'm boiling the wort into which I understand should chill it to pitching temp in about 30 mins. My main question is should the hops be removed post boil but before chilling or can they be left in the wort and strained off once chilled?
The reason for the question is that a lot of the recipes I have read call for the aroma hops to be steeped or boiled for very specific times (ie 2 mins at the end of the boil or steeping for 30 mins) and will an additional 30mins in the pot whilst cooling be detrimental to the character of the beer?
Thanks!
Wil

Hi Wil,
No leave them in. They won't make any difference to the final outcome.
