Why does a bottle version have more alcohol content than the cask version of the same ale
E.g havest pale in cask is 3.8% and the bottle version is 4.3 % ???
Thank-you

I believe its the way the beer is inside cask and bottles. Cask is a living breathing beer while bottled beer is sitting there, sometimes force carbonated, under a layer of c02, so to get the taste the same they may have to change the amount of malt required to get a similar taste. Tribute is a good (or bad) example of this in my opinion. Its one of the nicest pints cask but I really dont like the stuff in a bottle, I find it totally different.

Fullers give an explination for theirs here - http://www.fullers.co.uk/rte.asp?id=86
