bread from old fermented yeast?
just finished racking off my AG summer lightning and am left with the usual inch deep sludge of old yeast/ grain stuff and was wondering if anyone has any idea if there is any use for it? i hate to throw it away if it has a use, perhaps making some bread from it? this is the whole idea of being sustainable to try and reuse everything and throw as little away as possbile.
or is it down the toilet with it? haha
thanks guys!

I'd save a half filled jar full, and keep it in the fridge or somewhere cool. Pop the lid every now and then to vent any pressure, but it's usually happy enough. Use it for your next brew, you'll see it still looks healthy in a month or more.
A lot of people carry this over for around three brews.
Havn't tried bread making with it, but guess you may need to prove for 24hrs, as one of the main differences is bread yeast is designed to be a fast munching strain, as apposed to brewing yeast being slow munching.
If you still have loads left over, I've always thought it looks like it would make a good face pack.

In "ye olde days" people went to brewerys to get yeast to make the bread. Google for a recipe, and also google yeast washing if you want to make bread that doesnt taste of hops!
