gregBottle Rinsing

2 years ago | Greg (Admin)

When you finish a home brewed bottle beer, rinse it out giving is a good shake to dislodge the sediment.

Dried sediment is a bugger to get out later!

May seem obvious but not when you first start out.

Planning:Maybe a lager.
Fermenting:
Conditioning:Pale with Styrians
Drinking:Cascade Pale Ale, Summer Lightning

I always add a squirt of dettol spray after the rinse too .. just to be on the safe side!

Yeah after Bottle is empty I soak in hot water (helps remove label and sediment) then leave to drain upside down and store in a sealed box!

Makes you wonder why the 'bottle' ever came about... sod to clean really, what's wrong with a jar?

I'm sure there's plenty of info on the net about the development of the bottle design .. but I'm just too lazy to look!
