With the abundance of blackberries that are now coming into season. Just wondering whether you could make a blackberry beer? Would it be the same as how i made my raspberry beer earlier? Or just rancid to even think about it?

I am just interested really see what other people think?

    Hey Neil
I'd do exactly what you did with the raspberry - but multiply the amount of blackberries by 4. Although... I'd do a porter or a stout if it were me. Or possibly a wheat beer...?

Mouth watering just thinking about it. Seems there's to be a bumper crop of blackberries this year!

I thought it might be the case Tony.

I know what you mean about the bumper crop. I've not seen this many in years. Hmmmmm a porter sounds interesting i must admit as does my wheat beer recipe too. Not sure how it would taste?

I've almost finished my raspberry wheat beer it was almost as nice as Iceni brewery's Raspberry wheat too. I've got the Amarillo Extract brew bubbling away but then what to make next. I know i'd like to do the Christmas Brew i put on here as well... oh the decisions.

hey Greg... did you mean blackberry turbo? If you did that's a cracking idea .. blackberry and apple, what a classic combination

Oh - with regard to the poll above, I selected my favorite from the four - but it's not my favorite beer!

    accidentally .... excellent!

Oooo you jammy git - I've got the kids with me. Although I'm still waiting to make sure the temp is on the way down - too many beers in storage that are developing off flavors from the heat!

Have a great brewday! What are you brewing?

I'm brewing a porter today as it goes.

Its part of a group brew for the North Hampshire brewers meeting in September. FFF brewery have given us the recipe, we all brew it then meet up with a few bottles each and the head brewer from the brewery is going to give them a taste.

Never done a porter so looking forward to it.

    I'll post the recipe separately.

    Planning:Maybe a lager.
