User has not uploaded an avatarBest temperature to ferment and condition Coopers Mexican Cerveza

1 year ago | etheridge (Member)

Hi All.
My first post here so "Hello"

I'm really new to home brew but I've just finished all 40 pints of an iBrew kit (turned out okay...'ish).

Anyway I really want to try a coopers beer kit so I thought that I would give the Mexican Cerveza a try.
Now since this is going to be a uber light beer what is the best temp to ferment and condition at?

I was thinking about conditioning in my beer fridge but I'm not sure if that will be just toooo cold ( like I said VERY new to all of this, so sorry if my questions / ideas are wayyy of the mark).

Cheers for your help guys.

Jason.

Is it a standard yeast or a lager one (should tell you in the instructions) If its coopers standard yeast then the coolest you could ferment is arout 18c. If its a true lager yeast then you probably fermnent around 11c.

A fridge is way to cold to start fermentation (most fridges frun 2-5c).

The the lower range of fermentation temp will give you a cleaner taste, which is essential for any lager.

    Conditionin'/Drinkin' - OPA Pale
    Conditionin' - LEB Pale
    Conditionin' - Thwaits Nutty Black
    Plannin' - A user upper!
