Hi Rich and welcome

It's not such a leap to extract brewing. Have a look as this post:

http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/topic/moving-from-kits-to-extract

Also, have a look at the Way to Amarillo IPA recipe on this site. It's easy!

Another Wiltshire resident here as well (for the last 4 years). Southern Salisbury.
Also popped in to Brew HQ last week to get a few kits, stood and watched Greg load up all your deliveries.

Currently on tap: Brupaks Linthwaite Light. (very nice)
Ready to keg: Coopers Australian Pale Ale. (but my second kegs cap has broken whilst cleaning out the remnants of the last brew last night...disaster...another trip to Brew HQ this afternoon.)

Wow - loads of Wiltshire brewers!

Moved here in October to start a new job, and the prettier half also grew up in this part of the world. Currently living in the Woodford Valley, just north of Salisbury and only a few miles away from Brew HQ at Old Sarum. Greg - I popped in a few weeks ago to buy some bits and pieces, and to ask loads of stupid newbie questions - made the poor wife stand around while you and I chatted for about an hour. Luckily she's a patient girl!

Hello fellow brewers,

Am very new to home brewing. Have successfully made up 3 kits (Wherry, Nelson's Revenge and Smuggler's SPA) although from reading the posts here I have a long way to go before I can started on extract / AG and such like. As someone who enjoys making a big mess, the quasi-chemical nature of cooking, and drinking gallons of real ale, I can't believe it has taken me so long to start!

Sorry to dive straight in with a problem, but I have hit a snag on brew no. 4, on which note I am going straight over to 'General Brewing Discussions' to post it there and beg for some expert advice...
