Not for the TTL... immed and ammed about it all day but was convinced/persuaded by brew buddy son to just go for the TTL as is, then do the WTA later this afternoon as well, steal 200g of the 3kg DME that came with the WTA pack and cultivate the WLP002 only in case we feck it up. <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_redface.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" />

Goliath.
grmski is right on, get the biggest for your bucks & space that you have. Going for the 60ltr will give you more head space when you have a rolling boil.
For my mash tun I used an old 12volt fridge from my truck that the motor had gone kerput.

After cutting the right size hole, a new tap was fitted...one mash tun.

I am getting a fridge to turn into a fermenting chamber this Friday so would like to get one asap. You can purchase the stc-1000 from UK sellers on ebay which would be quicker delivery.

OK...

I am now in the process of locating everything I need, then will start to make the purchases. I would appreciate input on the following:

I'm undecided between 45l and 60l barrels. I am fully aware that one day I may wish to brew a larger quantity of beer at once, so am leaning towards the 60l. However, these will take up more space, which isn't really a problem, but would I be better off going for the 45l?

45l -

60l (found by grmski)-

I'm going for this cool box I think -

Then I need to get taps, thermometers, etc. If anyone could point me in the direction of a good place to source these, I'd be most grateful <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

I'm pretty sure these are all good parts, but could do with some confirmation!

Very much looking forward to this!

The glass can make a difference too. If you use a 'head saver' glass it will go flat quicker. Use one with a smooth bottom- on the inside. Some glasses have a rough bit on to give the bubbles something to form on- usually a picture of an archer and 'arcoroc'.

Hi Barracuda.

The issue about Co2 releasing slowly is largely to do with temperature. The lower it is when served, the longer it takes to release. When it comes to priming, what you are trying to do is force the Co2 into the beer and it's not easy. The rate at which you use priming sugar depends on what you are brewing. Lagers demand a high degree of carbonation while beers are normally less. Glass bottles carbonate ythe beer more than plastic and barrels don't really do much at all. If you want a beer to keep fizzing for a good while, prime at the rate of 3.0 gms per pint (125 gms in 23 lts) which is 2.71 gms per 500 ml, rather more than your quantity. Easy way, if you're bottling a whole 23 lt batch, is transfer it to a barrel which has 125 gms of sugar added. Make sure it dissolves and put it straight in the glass bottles. Leave 7 days at room temp then store 4 weeks at 12 - 14c to help with some Co2 absorbtion. Serve it cooled to about 12 to 14c and open slowly so as not to encourage the Co2 to rush out.

Oh yes. +1 wot Nath said.

Not only that but there are legal problems when you come into pub barrels as the pub doesnt really own them, they are just "borrowed" from the brewery. Even if the brewery makes no attempt to take them back, unless the right paperwork has been sorted out you can face a big fine if found out.

Forgive me for hijacking this thread, but that was such a good explanation re: Co2, I have a follow up which related to something I was discussing with my Homebrew colleague very recently.

After bottle priming and leaving to condition for a few weeks (3 I think), he found that his Homebrewed Cider, when poured, fizzed like mad for a few seconds, and was left flat.

Which factor in the Priming process would need to be altered to help the Co2 release slower, over time, as you'd expect from a shop bought brew?

Other info: He primed with Dextrose, 1/2 tsp/500ml. Conditioned at room temp. FG about 1.010 I think. Served refrigerated.

Hi.
Yes, you could use pub barrels, but I wouldn't think you could convert them to take pressure like a corny. You could do it with a keg, but you'd need all the gas and cooler equipment to go with it. Ordinary barrels take beer that's served on draught, so you would need to brew enough to fill the barrel and drink it before the air getting in to displace the beer sends it bad. I suppose you could condition in the barrel in the same way as we do with plastic barrels, but I can see all sorts of hurdles to overcome, not least of which is making sure they are clean enough.

Your second question. If there is yeast in the bottle, then the beer is termed; 'Bottle Conditioned'. The beer is put into the bottle while there is still fermentables left in it, yeast added, or some use the yeast still in the brew, capped and left to pressurise itself. Often, the yeast used is not the main brewery yeast, because it needs to be a yeast that will clear quickly and settle on the bottom of the bottle very firmly. The other beer, the one with no yeast in the bottle, is brewed to completeion, filtered so it is absolutely free of anything that can form sediment, put into a large tank and cooled to about 4°c then the tank is pressurised with Co2. Because the beer is cold and the gas under pressure, quite a lot is absorbed into the beer. It is then bottled instantly, by which I mean the time from the tank to the capped bottle is about a second. As the beer warms to more normal temperatures, the gas is released from the beer and pressurises the bottle. This is why, the more you cool a bottle of beer, the less fizz you get and the longer Co2 will be released while the beer is in the glass.

Just a thought as my mate is a landlord and has a few barrels spare. Can I use pub beer barrels.
Could I customize them to get a tap on like a corney keg?? Has anyone tried it.
Another question about beer we buy at a shop. How come most have no yeast in is there anyway we can bottle our own beer the same way??

That's a good point the barrel and filing it down. The barrel arrived this morning so I'll take a good look tonight but from reading on the web people have been using these mechanical flanges, which seems to screw into each other via the barrel wall along with food grade silicon sealent and thick silicon washers so with luck this will work for me. I would imagine that if the barrel softens slightly with heat then when soft it should be malliable enough to tighten the flange and and make the seal good.

I'd be careful about filing. These barrels stand up to boiling, but they do soften a bit in the process. If you make it thinner I think you might be inviting trouble.

I really don't know. There was a post about Campden Tablets recently and there was a reference in there to Copper having a neutralising effect if you add too many. All beyond me. Chemistry never was my strong point. I got put off at 11 years old when sitting at the front bench in the lab when Mr Lall, our chemistry teacher from Pakistan, crawled under his bench to investigate a smell of gas and struck a match to see in the dark. Put him in hospital, blew out all the windows and bowled us all off the first 3 rows like skittles. I couldn't hear properly for 2 days! The only other time that happened to me was at a Quo concert when I stood for 2 hours 6 feet from the speakers. Everyone sounded like Donald Duck for 2 days after that.
I digress. Don't know, but I would think you'd have to be careful not to use a plastic that's affected by hot water.

Hey Nath. Thanks for the resposne.

The reason I decided to do the starters (and the main brew) in the brew fridge is becase it's the only way I can guarantee a constant 'room' temperature. The temperature in our house is never constant. It's up and down all the time in winter as we come and go.

Anyway, I've bagged a brew day for tomorrow (GW London Pride), so I'll see how it goes.

On the heater positioning, do you think it's better to have it under the fermenter, and have the fermenter on a ledge, or does it really matter if it's a few inches above the bottom of the fermenter?

Cheers,

Good suggestions there I will take them on board. My first attempt at this will be to just fit it together and see how much leakage there is. I was also thinking that a gentle filing of he outside of the barrel to reduce the curvature might help with the seal.

I was thinking maybe a section with the immersion heater flange cut out of an old copper cylinder, some judicious panel beating, a large 'washer' cut from rubber or lots of silicone sealer between the flange and the barrel, and as many stainless steel bolts as you can muster to bolt the flange to the barrel.

While I'm pretty confident that the temp in the bottom of the demijohns is in and around the 20 degrees set in the controller, I'm a little concerned that, when I move the probe higher up, the temp is 2-3 degrees higher. I don't want to ruin the starter, and eventual brew, with too high a temp in the fridge, but am aware that keeping the temp around 20 degrees in the bottom, where most of the yeast is working, is needed.

Its a bit of a tough one, If you heat a small space then it will be harder to control than a larger one. The starter can be done at room temp really, no need to do it in a brew fridge. The beer is a much larger volume so will take longer to cool and heat so the temperature shouldnt fluctuate as much.

As for the positioning - I used to put mine on the bottom after all the testing, but I wasnt too bothered in the end!

Cheers Barry.
I have just aquired a chest freezer last weekend (very old but seems to work). I've got an STC1000 from ebay and have just ordered all the relevant parts off Screwfix to put together Nath's version. I will be building the temp controller in 2 weeks with the father in law (i'm hopeless with electrics). Also waiting on the electrician to fit an outside socket on my house which I will use to run power to my shed via armoured cable.
Exciting few weeknds ahead!!

Just to follow up:

Got my ATC 800+ wired up with no issues and it worked first time. I'm a complete novice at anything electrical, so if I can wire one of these babies up, anyone can. It's connected to 2 4-way sockets with the 60W heater plugged into the 'HOT' adapter and the fridge itself pluged into the 'COLD' adapter.

I'm currently fermenting 2 1-gallon demijohns at 20 degrees. The demijohns contain yeast starter made with WYeast 1968 ESB yeast split 2 ways.

My question is, where is the best place to keep probe & heater, etc in the fridge?

Currently, the heater is on a small ledge at the back of the fridge, about 4 inches above the bottom of the demijohns. The probe itself I keep suspended just above the bottom of the fridge, more or less level with the bottom of the demijohns.

When I open the fridge door it feels like a rush of warm air hits me, but that may be due to the temp difference between the fridge and the considerably colder garage where the fridge stays.

Am I going abour this the right way and worrying over nothing? 'Yes' to both questions would be great <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

Cheers,

-Barry

Mark: To answer your question, my now-brew-fridge had been used as a normal fridge in my cold garage for about 2 years and I had no issues with it. I think the garage temp only gets above 16c for about 1 week in mid July. Hope this helps.

Don't worry about it mark. Each to there own. I have decided to get a corny after doing a bit of research, found that they would also overcome a problem I had on another thread about taking some brew on the road. And also after doing loads of reading and research I will only put in a session brew and bottle up the strong stuff that i am planning to keep to condition.
The pros and cons that I have found if anyone else wants to know is.

Pros of corny.
1)It wont taint the beer as plastic barrels can over time.
2)The gas will be cheaper in the long run.
3 You can regulate the gas for the perfect drawn pint.

Cons of corny
1)you cant store it as long as bottled beer.(if you can leave it that long)
2)the price is more than plastic barrels cheapest I have seen for a complete set up keg ready to go with tap is £89.(The one at my local shop was £55 but needed a tap and some other things worked out about £100 <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_cry.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" />
3)I don't know if I am right but it appears that you have to strip it all down to clean it so a bit time consuming.

bottles pros
1)Cheap.
2)Lasts a long time.
3)Easy to transport and put in the fridge.
4)You can give out samples.

cons
1)Hard work cleaning and sterilizing 40ish 500ml bottles for full brew.
2)They can explode(lost beer )

king keg/plastic barrel pros
1)Cheaper than a corny so good way to start.
2)Easy to clean and fill over bottles.
3)Always available locally.

cons
1)If stored in for a while it can taint the beer.
2)The barrel or lid can erode and crack over time.(had both happen to me over the years)

Feel free to correct me on anything or add something that I missed out

Just had a good look at this. It's not a grand's worth, but there's a lot to it. Doesn't look used, either. When you look at the prices of similar stuff from the manufacturers it compares quite well. 2 gas rings, strainers, wort chiller, temperature guages, 15 gallon boiler and all that stainless steel doesn't come cheap. It must cost £600 to build.

Is it just me or do the individual components there total well under a bag of sand? Seems optimistic that a nicely built softwood frame can warrant that price.
Good luck to him.

There are a lot of online sources you can get them from. You can even choose this site to supply you with those kinds of stuff. Or, you could very well visit your local pub and ask if you could have (or at least pay for a minimal charge) for the bottles they are going to discard. Though there are some pubs who recycle them for easier profit. But you have to watch for how you are going to clean them before use.

So that's 2 Stobart depots closing. As I understood it, Rugby is going.(EDIT. What am I talking about! Rugby's a game! No, it's Corby that's closing)
I suppose it's logical to centralise it at Magna, but the road links once you're off the M1/M6 aren't wonderful. I suppose we'll all have to stump up a load more to make the roads better for all those tired, Eastern Europeans. Well, they would be tired having driven 10 or 12 hours non-stop, wouldn't they.

Last week I actually saw a Renault truck where the driver could make the Digitach record whatever he wanted while the truck was being driven. I suppose you know of the German trucker killed when he smashed into the back of a Polish trailer on the M40. He had 53 Tacho charts to cover 32 days, 232 infringements on them with the worst being 21 hours driving in 24 hours, just before he killed himself and caused us colossal expense clearing up his mess.

+1 all of the above.

I just asked my local to save me all the magniers bottles and they were happy to do so. Have now phased out all the 'odds and sods' ones we were using and recycled them. Now all our bottles are the same size etc for stacking safely in crates. The Magniers labels come off easily enough (with the odd stubborn exception)and have never had a problem with one exploding or anything. Not sure whether that would be the case with ginger beer brewing, perhaps Loretta has more experience in that particular field <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_mrgreen.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" />

Saracen is correct about them investing in all sorts of things, they have bought Southend airport and railway station next to it, transformed it all ready for the direct route to Sratford for the olympics. They are doing a great job of what was a dead end airpot and got easyjet coming in very soon, now it's Londons number 4 airport.

Don't know what's going on there. A huge company like that can get into trouble very easily, and anyone trying to make a living out of the UK transport industry is pretty much on a loser anyway, but I don't think they are in trouble. I spoke to one of their trampers 24 hours after it was on the news and he knew nothing about it. The depot in question is more like a town, and I suspect, if it happens, it will be a cost effectiveness exercise. Stobart are currently investing incredible amounts of money in all sorts of things, and financing will be difficult for them. In all honesty, they'd have more chance of being profitable getting out of road transport and concentrating on rail and air. Leave the long distance stuff to all the Eastern European drivers who contribute not a single penny to our economy, flood our roads, cause hundreds of accidents, break our laws, undercut us at every opportunity and take all the money back home to buy new trucks.

Hi Techno.
Hopville has caused a few problems in the past, probably as it's USA. We are mostly of the conclusion that there's more misleading brewing info from USA than anywhere else.
Someone recently listed a recipe from there. When I converted the original in Beer Engine, their recipe had the wrong OG, wrong hops, wrong ABV and a totally inappropriate yeast. When we compared the same recipes in Hopville and Beer Engine, Hopville was working out the figures incorrectly, which is less than helpful. As with all things USA, if you spent time digging into the program and the settings, you would probably have something that works. Personally, I don't trust it.
Have you looked at Beersmith? Now THERE'S complicated!!

I am thinking of getting another barrel in the next few weeks and cant decide weather to get another king keg or a cornie.
I saw a cornie in my local home brew shop think it was already to go had piped and a valve on top it was £55 the king keg is £45. I was in a bit of a rush and there were a few people in the shop so did not have time to ask about it.
Price aside what are the benefits if any for getting a cornie as apposed to a king keg. I will prob only do extract brews as I don't have the time at the moment to go all out and start doing full grain. I will also just be making ale to go in it like old peculiar

Hi Chile
I have never had problems with cloudy lager and put it down to the fact it is always in fermenter for minimium 14 days.
However i like a lager nice and cold from the fridge and when put in the fridge the lager can and often does get what they call chill haze.
So to prevent this i add a sachet of harris beerbrite finings the day before racking off and then you get no haze in the lager, really good stuff. I will be adding this to my coopers lager on Sunday.

cheers guys, probably gonna put some warm water and washing up liquid in them and then sterilise then use. They'v had two uses in them already and bit wary about gunk in the bottom.

On another note Saracen, would you recommend using finings in coopers lager? not sure whether or not to use them. i have done two batches already and some have come out cloudy and some have come out clear. What will it do to the brew?

Cheers

So glad I saw this post as I coming home from work the other night (shift worker so it was dark) and I called at a supermarket bottle bank and got 10 500ml bottles. The wife gave me one of them looks when I got home <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_rolleyes.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" /> lol.
I filled an old style sink with some hot water and bleach and left them in for a few all the labels came off and they look like new. I will give them a proper sterilizing before the next brew is ready to go into them. Wonder if its legal to do this could just imagine getting caught stealing empty bottles explain that to the judge <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_redface.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" />

Hi jezmondo the type I have is like this one
Mine had 1/2" fittings on so used 3x1/2" to hose tail and 1 garden hose quick connect. Basically there are 4 ports to which you connect cold water to one side and an exit pipe the other side(goes into the sink), then connect a hose from the boiler to the opposite end to the cold water inlet so the hot wort and cold water flow in opposite directions and the last port has a pipe going to the FV.

Great!..was just talking about this , how did you plumb it and /use it.

do you have the heatexchanger in the wort?

on the plate to plate heatexchangers one way i thought you could do it was, if from your hose have a t peice put in then you have 2 cold water flows into h/e and 2 out thus blasting heatexchanger with cold water and the h/e would act as a heat sink.

another idea is get something like this,I can get quite big heatexchangers,Iam a gas engineer so can get hold of these as these boilers are crap
http://media.plumbtraders.co.uk/cache/80/84/808426d8e2866cb79c4fe7d558e43789.jpg

Sorry Nath it was a one off on ebay but keep looking as there are lots on there but most are bought as spares to repair boilers and price reflects that, but the odd one does turn up from time time to time unknown what boiler its for so price is a lot lower as was this one. Will up load pictures tomorrow if I have time so people can see what their looking for.

Just bought a 60 plate heat exchanger off ebay after being a bit disappointed with the time it was taking to cool down the wort using the traditional copper pipe coil. With the old set up 23l of wort would take around 40-45 minutes to cool down sufficient to pitch the yeast. Just done a dummy run with the heat exchanger and am blown away with just how quick it cools! The cold water supply to the exchanger was 12'C and the water in the boiler was just off the boil at 98'C and the temp of the exit water/wort was 22'C so as quick as I can dump the wort into the FV(around 10mins)I can now pitch the yeast! we worth the £33(plus £3 for connectors)I paid <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_biggrin.gif" title=":D" class="bb_smilies" />

Lager yeasts create sulphur compounds, the lagering period allows these compounds to dissipate.

Afternoon all.
With construction of my brew fridge/freezer starting at weekend I wanted to know about lagering.
Looking at Greg's recipe for Tettnang Lager he advises to do this:
•	After pitching yeast, leave at 20c for 24 hours.
•	Lower the temperature to 12c. Ferment for a further 5 days.
•	Transfer to a clean ferment bin and chill to 2/3 c (ideally now under airlock or clip the lid down firmly). Leave for 2 weeks.
•	Transfer to bottles (adding 120g of priming sugar). Leave the bottles at room temperature for 5 days then move somewhere cooler to clear.

Thanks, madlen_lieb, I'd never thought of dissolving gummy bears. I don't think my kids would be too impressed if I pinched their sweets to make glue with... they still haven't forgiven me for boiling up their pony last time I needed some. <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

I have thought the same thing. Wasteful, but would the electricity used to recirculate cost more than the water wasted? If you add the fan it's going to cost even more, and 1,000 lts of water costs about 90p through the tap. It works out at about 4 - 5p to cool your wort.
A car rad, even S/hand is going to be about £20, plus the cost of a fan, a battery, a pump, and all the piping and wiring. The economics don't stack up.

I usually fill the kettle with the first of the water through the coil and make tea with it.

Thanks for your input guys, iam totally new to all this but i am quite handy at making things.

I reckon if it passes into say a car rad and have a fan blowig onto it it maybe enough? and poss running though a central heating rad to dump the heat.

what temps is the water when you have to add the cooler and what does it need to cool to?

sure there must be a way of a good old bodge here...:)

Yarp... I laser print them 'cos the ink doesn't run, unlike inkjet jobs. And milk works really well... just a light coat with a brush (not too much, more damp than dripping) then position and hold the label for about 5 seconds. Job done <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_biggrin.gif" title=":D" class="bb_smilies" />

The water is too hot to touch when you first start cooling, could you get it cool enough to recirculate through the chiller again?.

210 litre barrels are cheap enough on ebay, maybe you could use rain water?.

I design mine in Photoshop and print one page out (8 to a page) and photocopy them. The photocopy ink isn't as subject to condensation and won't run (but does mean they have to be greyscale). I pritstik them on - but might try milk!
I started just labeling a few but now do the whole lot. There is a great satisfaction in seeing 40 nicely labeled bottles down in the cellar.

I bought gummed paper (was surprisingly hard to track down) and print on a colour laser at home. 24 strips per sheet, nicely laid out in Illustrator for easy cutting with a scalpel and rule. They come off dead easy too. Started out with pun based names and pictures, but 6 brews ago settled on a relatively clean template which I just change the colours, number and ingredients. Nice and simple.

With my beers I keep them in the garage in German beer crates with a paper label with beer name, abv and date that it will be ready to drink and then when I move them into the cupboard indoors I put colour coded rubber bands around the neck of each bottle so everyone knows what they are looking at (Red for Revenge, Blue for Nog, White for the current Stout etc.).

These are my wine labels, I use Prit Stick to glue them on as it comes off very easily. I print the labels six at a time on a sheet of A4 and use a steel ruler and a scalpel to cut them.

And yes we started out colour coding with caps... then found we were having to use leftovers from odd bags on occasion, or having 3 different aged editions of the same brew or with different tweaks, it got too dificult to track them all 100%. Each crate now has it's own label with all particulars, and sometimes tasting notes if I feel so inclined, recorded below the label artwork. <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":-)" class="bb_smilies" />

Nice Idea with the crate labels. and Milk.. interesting..

A friend of mine has decided he really doesn't enjoy soaking labels, so just draws a design on brown parcel tags, to go over the neck.

I considered it may be an idea to do a small label that is just the name of my 'Brewery', then remember whats inside by using different colour crown caps/wine bottle shrink caps. That way, they only need to be soaked and replaced every so often, not after every use.

Designed at home, laser printed at work, cut out by teenaged daughter in exchange for a lift or whatever she wants me to do for her, and stuck onto bottle using a basting brush and a very light wipe of milk. They stick on fine, and wash off again no probs.

I only do a couple of whatever I am taking out for others to try etc, otherwise a large copy of the label (laminated... with space to write in relevent brew dates and any specific particulars about that brew that I wan't to record) goes on the top of each crate or stack thereof in the garage so I know what's what. <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_wink.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" />

Hey all,

Whilst scrubbing the labels of many a bottle this evening, I started thinking about my own that will adorn the finished homebrews. (I enjoyed looking through the competition ones on the BrewUK Facebook)

I wanted to ask, what type of labels do you all use, size, type of paper etc.. do you print your own, or get them made.. has anyone found a type of paper, glue, sticker that soaks off easy than others?

Personally, i'm thinking about a smallish label, printed at home, on those A4 sticky pages from Staples, WHSmith or whatever.. but I'd like to be sure I use something that doesn't require explosives to remove when it's time to replace them.

You could get a squat fermenter, have a look at this one - http://www.brewuk.co.uk/store/brupak-30-fermenter.html

if it fits then you can use the freezer compartment for hop and long term yeast storage

The fermenter is hermetically sealed so also great for lagering of beers.

Hi guys,i have a lovely spare fridge that was left here when we moved house...

But the fridge is a small one with a freezer section at the top,my fermenter will fit if this is removed but looks like this is the bit that actually cools the fridge ..so maybe this one cant be used??

anyone got any ideas?? or maybe keep it as it is for cold bottles

only on my second brew(beer kit for xmas) and already looking at all grain equipment, well i blame a mate who make great stuff..you know who you are!

Everything has evened out, well kinda.

1 glass thermometer (1) = 20c
2 glass thermometer (2) = 19c
3 ATC 800 = 20.4c
4 Meat thermometer = 20c
5 Min/Max Thermometer = 20.2c
6 STC 1000 = 20.6c

So Im going for 20c as a it seems to be the sorta average and 2 read it excatly, so ive calibrated the stc through its menu to drop 0.6c from its reading.

The stc will be my fermentation temperature control while the atc will continue on the ol' kegerator.

Sorted!

Righty going through the testing and calibration phase now. How do you test it I hear you say....... Like this:-

Only problem is that every one of the 6 readings is different! Even the two glass thermometers <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_confused.gif" title=":?" class="bb_smilies" />

TO BE CONTINUED...

I'm not lazy but although I can handle the complexities of a closed circuit rebreather I tend to stay away from electrickery. Prob a result of being mildly electrocuted as a kid... <img src="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/forum/bb-plugins/default/icon_eek.gif" title="8O" class="bb_smilies" /> I think I'm electrophobic...

That looks great Nath. Not sure I would sell them though as they are electrical and would need to be tested properly.
